So why the Bissell Spinwave Powered Hardwood Floor Mop & Cleaner?
Remember that famous scene in the Karate Kid movie – ‘wax on, wax off’ well that’s very much the principle behind how the Spinwave from Bissell works. The two rotating brush heads spin in opposite directions to scrub clean, polish, or mop away any stubborn stains or everyday mess and grime all with the push of a button.
With two easy to fit sets of power spin mop pads to choose from, the amazingly quiet Spinwave from Bissell lets you quickly and easily customize all your hard floor cleaning needs; use the soft touch cleaning pads for all your everyday dry mopping and polishing needs.
Or attach the scrubby bristle pads for when you need a little more muscle and have to get tough with all those hard to shift stains, sugary split drinks, or if your best friend has had a little accident. On this – although the scrubby pads do have bristles, they are still gentle enough not to scratch your sealed floors.
Best for cleaning and mopping all types of hard floor surfaces, including linoleum, vinyl flooring, tiles, and hardwood floors. The incredibly versatile Bissell Spinwave comes with the latest on-demand spray trigger technology.
Letting you dispense just the right amount of Bissell Multi-Surface solution and water onto your floors, so you can clean as you go with no waste and with no big wet puddles left behind. Leaving your floors to dry quicker, which is excellent for any sealed floors that might be sensitive to water.
The lightweight design and swivel steering of the Bissell Spinweave along with its 14″ full cleaning path and 22′ power cable allow you to move up and down stairs or from room to room with ease. You can glide around furniture and get into those hard to reach tight corners where dirt lurks with minimal effort.
But if you do need to move the furniture or take that all-important coffee break. Stand the mop upright, and the spinning action automatically stops with the innovative Bissell Auto Stop feature so you can leave the machine standing, and get on with more important things.
Then when you’re all finished polishing or mopping, and it’s time to clean up the pads, drop them in the washing machine or the top rack of the dishwasher and let them dry naturally or put them in a dryer.
Just remember whatever you do, don’t add fabric softener or dryer sheets to their wash, as this will reduce the pads absorbency and they won’t be up to the job. With proper care, your pads should last several months or even a couple of years, depending on how often you use them.
What’s in the box?
In the box, you will find the main Spinwave machine body, the handle, two Soft-Touch pads, two Scrubby Pads, and two 8oz bottles of Bissell Multi-Surface Formula along with the User Guide. Fitting the handle is straightforward, insert the handle into the body of the machine until you hear a ‘click’ and you’re ready to go. Also, the Bissell Spinwave comes with a 2 Year Manufacturers Limited Warranty for total peace of mind.
Is the Bissell Spinwave Powered Hardwood Floor Mop & Cleaner the right power mop for me?
As we often say here, if you’re one of those people who take some bizarre pleasure from ringing dirty mops out by hand and you have the time to struggle up and down stairs or from room to room with buckets of water, then the Spinwave is probably not the thing for you.
But if you want to ‘drop the mop’ and get on with life like the rest of us, then the Bissell Spinwave is probably one of the best hardwood floor cleaner machine, vinyl, linoleum and tile mopping and polishing machines currently available.
It’s ideal for both light and heavy-duty cleaning, and because it’s lightweight, easy to maneuver and comes with a swivel head to search out dirt and mess, you don’t end up with a back strain that often comes with the more traditional floor mopping. The power spin pads are straight forward to apply and cleaning them, well that couldn’t be easier.
However, that’s not to say the Bissell Spinwave doesn’t have issues, for example, it does take a little time to get used to it, as it can be a bit hard to control when you first start using the machine, but that’s probably down to the fact that it glides across hard surfaces.
We also found the size of the head a little too large for getting into confined spaces like behind the toilet or under low furniture.
Lastly, while we found it to be a fantastic machine for cleaning, mopping, and polishing most hard surfaces, we did find that the scrubby brushes were just not harsh enough for deep cleaning grout – but that’s not the end of the world.
The Price
We found several online retailers offering the Bissell Spinwave Powered Hardwood Floor Mop & Cleaner. However, Amazon.com seemed to be the most competitively priced.
On the subject of price, The Bissell Pet Foundation donates up to $10.00 for every pet product (including the Spinwave) sold to help pets in shelters or rescues – a genuinely worthy cause indeed.
The last word
Sometimes we don’t always agree with what manufacturers say about their product and take it all with a pinch of salt. But in the case of Bissell, who suggests the Spinwave delivers ‘a hands-and-knees clean’ without being on your hands and knees well, we certainly have to agree with them.
FAQ’s
Hi, can I use the machine on my bathroom floor tiles?
Yes, the Spinwaver is ideal for cleaning, mopping, and polishing bathroom floor tiles and will do a great job. Just remember to select the correct cleaning pads. you can also use it as a grout cleaning machine for your apartment.
I saw some pictures of this machine online, and it looks cumbersome, is it heavy?
The Bissell Spinwave comes in at approximately 11lbs, is very maneuverable, and is easy to take up and down stairs or from room to room. So you should have no problem using the machine.
This looks like a great machine and would be ideal for all my floors; the only thing is I can’t see where the steam comes out. Can you help me?
Hi, I think you might be getting confused with other Bissell products; the Spinwave is not a steam floor cleaner, it’s an electric-powered mop and polisher for hardwood floors and other surfaces. I hope that clears up any issues you had.
I see this isn’t one of those cordless cleaners, so I guess it has a power lead – how long is the lead?
The power cable on the Bissell Spinwave is 22′ in length, so it should be plenty long enough to let you move comfortably from room to room. And of course not being chargeable, you don’t need to wait for the batteries to charge so you can work to the schedule that’s best suits you.
Do I have to use the Bissell Multi-Surface cleaning liquid that comes with the machine, or can I use any cleaning solution?
To avoid any issues with your machine working correctly or you having problems with your warranty, we would strongly recommend you stick with the Bissell approved cleaning solution.
Tell me; are there any special tools I need to fit the pads?
Absolutely not just place the pads on the floor next to one another and press the cleaner heads on to them, it’s really quite easy and should take you no time.
We’ve got a couple of dogs that are getting on a bit, and every now and again, they have an accident. Is the Bissell Multi-Surface floor cleaning solution pet-friendly?
Hi, very much so, Bissell is a great supporter of all things pets and the Bissell Pet Foundations donates proceeds from every machine to help pets in shelters and rescues.
Okay, please don’t laugh at me, but I can see where I put in the cold water and the Bissell cleaning solution, but I don’t know what happens to the dirty water. I would really appreciate your help with this question.
Not a problem, and we would certainly not laugh at you. Unlike some power mops, the Spinwave does not have a two-tank system where you have one for clean water and one for dirty water. The Bissell uses the very latest in on-demand spray trigger technology. Letting you dispense just the right amount of Bissell Multi-Surface solution and water onto your floors, so you can clean as you go with no waste and no big wet puddles left behind. Any residual water that might be left on the floor is then easily absorbed by the cleaning pads — leaving your floors to dry quicker, which is excellent for any sealed floors that might be sensitive to water.
