That can all share the same powerful ONE PWR removable rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery.
There’s nothing more frustrating than being right in the middle of cleaning when the battery dies, and then you’re stuck, as you have to wait HOURS for the battery to recharge again.
Well, now the wait is over, with the ONEPWR system; all you have to do is change out the battery, and you can keep going. The ‘swap and go’ technology allows removable and rechargeable batteries to interchange with any ONEPWR product giving you virtually endless run time. So now you can clean in and around the home for longer and go further.
On a personal note, we think the ONE PWR concept is a fantastic idea, and we wish more companies in the cordless space would adopt a universal common battery strategy.
At just under 11lbs, the FloorMate Jet is lightweight, easy to lift and carry even up and down stairs or move from room to room – it’s just grab and go. Makes mopping and vacuuming all your hard surfaces and area rugs so much easier like never before. All without messing about with a cord – so no more trailing power cables getting wrapped up in the furniture or the need to keep switching sockets.
With a full charge, you have up to 25 minutes of run time, and if you need more time, drop in another ONEPWR battery. The FloorMate Jet with superior reach and convenience lets you get on to enjoy the essential things in life.
So let’s get into the detail and understand how the Hoover FloorMate Jet works
The Hoover ONEPWR FloorMate offers you two cleaning modes: Eco and High, allowing you to customize your cleaning needs. Using the Eco mode allows you more cleaning time but less suction. The High mode makes the device suck up everything in its path, but drains the battery pretty fast.
Guided by LCD sidelights and with an 11″ cleaning path, the versatile and highly maneuverable, swivel head on the FloorMate Jet lets you get into all those hard to reach places to track down dirt and mess wherever it collects or hides.
When it’s time to put the power on, and you need to tackle those really stubborn hard floor stains or everyday mess – it couldn’t be easier. Just add the supplied Hoover multi-surface cleaning solution to the clean water tank (the two-tank system keeps clean and dirty water separate).
Then use the built-in SprayClean nozzle and trigger system to direct just the right amount of solution to exactly where you need to spray and clean with no mess or waste. The unique microfiber brush roll then gently washes & scrubs to loosen debris while the powerful suction picks up wet & dry messes, helping your floors to dry faster all in one easy step.
And when you need a quick pick up the super-powerful vacuum suction goes to work on collecting any dry mess or pet hair, the FloorMate Jet makes cleaning all types of sealed hardwoods, tiles, vinyl, and laminates an absolute breeze.
However, just a cautionary note here Hoover does suggest that that the FloorMate Jet doesn’t replace your regular vacuum cleaner.
For breathing life back into your area rugs, the FloorMate Jet is ideal. Use the SprayClean nozzle and trigger system to deliver the right amount of multi-surface cleaning solution to leave your rugs looking refreshed, clean, and smelling super fresh.
We all love our pets, but sometimes even our best friend has an accident or decides to drag their muddy paws through the house. No worries, the microfiber multi-surface brush roll in your FloorMate Jet are designed to cope with even the toughest of pet mess.
When you’ve finished with your FloorMate Jet and its time to remove the dirt and gunk from the rotating brushroll, it couldn’t be easier.
Thanks to the rinse and storage tray, you place your machine on the tray and use fresh water to automatically clean the microfiber brush and flush out the system without getting your hands dirty.
When finished, take off the cover lift out the brush and let it dry in the storage tray. For the two tanks that keep dirty and clean water separate, empty them both rinse them out and let them dry before putting everything back together.
What’s in the box?
Along with your stylish FloorMate Jet comes the multi-purpose brushroll, rinse and storage tray, measuring cup, 8oz bottle of Hoover Multi-Purpose Cleaning Solution, ONEPWR 4AH battery, AC Charger, and user manual. For peace of mind the FloorMate Jet also comes with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Is the FloorMate Jet for me?
Well, I guess that depends on a couple of things, if struggling with a mop and dragging a dirty bucket of water around the house is your idea of a fun time then the FloorMate Jet is not for you.
Or if you’ve got muscles like ‘Pop Eye.’ Like spending time trying to untangle power cables from around the furniture. Don’t think it’s a waste of your time to be continually stopping and starting as you move from one power socket to another then the FloorMate Jet, is certainly not for you.
But if you’re like the rest of us and think there’s more to life than cleaning and mopping floors, then the Hoover FloorMate Jet is the perfect addition to your cleaning arsenal.
We found it to be the best machine for cleaning hard surfaces, including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and tile floors for vacuuming and refreshing area rugs, its the perfect tool.
Being portable and cordless along with the fact you can vacuum and mop all at the same time makes in the ultimate in one-step cleaning.
However, that’s not to say the FloorMate Jet doesn’t have room for improvement.
The 25 minutes run time is not long, and if you use it at full power, then that time does reduce faster – so you need to work smartly, particularly if you are working a large area.
We appreciate the FloorMate Jet has the advantage of being part of the ONEPWR product family, and you can interchange the batteries. However, if this is you only Hoover product, and you want to avoid the 3.5-hour charge time, you might want to consider buying a second battery.
Also, we did find the FloorMate Jet just a little noisy, but we guess this is down to the powerful suction.
The other thing we noticed when comparing the FloorMate Jet with similar products, was that cleaning the brush along with cleaning the clean and dirty water tanks, got a bit messy.
Trying to fill the measuring cup with water and carrying it to the cleaning tray without spilling was a challenge – in the end, we filled a jug and did it that way. The other thing we found was when you took the brush out after cleaning; you did end up with water on the floor.
Lastly, while the clean water tank was easy to clean, getting the dirt and gunk out of the dirty water tank took a bit of effort – perhaps Hoover should supply a cleaning brush as part of the kit.
But overall, we really liked the Hoover FloorMate Jet.
Quick question do I have to use the Hoover Cleaning Solution, or can I use other makes?
We wouldn’t recommend using another cleaning solution that has not been tested with the machine; you might have an issue with your warranty. Also, you’ve got to think that if Hoover recommends a product, it’s going to be the best for overall cleaning effectiveness.
Sometimes – not every time thankfully, dinnertime in our house resembles feeding time at the zoo, and all sorts ends up on the kitchen floor. So as a quick and easy way to clean up, would you recommend this machine?
I remember those days well. The Hoover FloorMate Jet is the best machine for just this situation. If it’s only dry mess, just vacuum it up and if its wet and dry simply spray & clean, you’ll be finished in no time.
We have two flights of stairs in our house how heavy is the machine and is it easy to use?
The FloorMate Jet weighs in at under 11lbs, so it is pretty lightweight, and you shouldn’t have any problems taking it up and downstairs or going from room to room. And because it’s cordless, you can take it anywhere in the house without having to worry about changing sockets or tripping over the power cable. All round, it’s effortless and one-step to use.
Hi, how do I know if my hardwood floors have been sealed and if they haven’t, can I still use this machine?
Interesting question, I would think the first thing you need to do is speak to the guys who put the floor in and ask them if it’s been sealed or not. If they don’t know, then you need to speak with the floor manufacturer. It’s only then you have your answer. If the floor is sealed, then you’re good to go. If they were not sealed, then we wouldn’t recommend using the FloorMate Jet.
I know this might seem like a strange question, but if the dirty water goes into the dirty water tank, where does the dry mess that I vacuum up go?
It’s not a strange question; the DWT collects both the wet and dry mess so that you only need to empty one tank once you have finished cleaning. I hope that helps.
